Vallarta Supermarket has arrived! For those of you who are familiar with the Southern Californian chain, you know that recent opening of this store is great news! Located where N 59 th and W Camelback Road meet, the Vallartas offerings bring a fresh, full service, and modern Hispanic market extravaganza to Glendale and the West Valley. Every family’s dream of authenticity in food offerings is readily found on rows and rows, stacks and stacks, and aisle upon aisle of grocery and deli items.

The deli is extensive and sweeps around from the mid-back of the store to along the full length of the side.  At the back are the salads, ceviches of various kinds that sweep to cheeses, meats, hot meals like chile rellenos, rice, and beans. Keep walking and you come to a full display of fried and roasted meats and sausages followed by fresh “aguas” and the best horchata around. Did you see the made-on-site pandulce (Mexican sweetbreads) and tortillas? How about the parfaits and fruit cups and to-go trays? And all the stainless steel heated tubs full of so many kinds of hot tamales? Turn around and there are pint and larger containers of various salsas, guacamoles, refried or a la olla beans ready to go. Tables and chairs are ready alongside the deli in case you decide to dig in right away!

Over on the other side of the store are huge quantities of fresh produce stacked high and priced just right! Breadfruit, pineapples, coconuts, and all the usual suspects are waiting in high volume. The long display of stacks of Peruvian, black, pinto, pink and more beans are ready to grab in bags or you can opt to fill your own. The shelves of tamale pots and clay serving dishes add compliment to the wonderful array of spices. The store also offers fresh masas for making your own tamales or tortillas.

This Vallartas is a treasure to be enjoyed! The store is large, clean, and well stocked. The employees are very friendly, helpful, and ready to share their expertise in what to buy and how to prepare your own home-made birria or carne asada. That is the joy of being a customer at this store. You will find everything you need to host your best Southwestern style party whether you decide to cook it yourself or you just want to pick your items and carry it home all ready for you and your guests to enjoy!
